Water levels of Waituna Lagoon

Current and forecast water level:

Find out what the level of the lagoon currently is, and what it is forecast to be in coming weeks.

• The blue trace is forecast lagoon level based on river flows and rainfall up to this point in time and shows the lagoon’s response if there is no further rainfall.
• The black trace is the measured level and may show noisy data from the effects of wind.
• The other traces are modelled from predicted rainfall over the next three days from three global weather models. These provide three possible short term trajectories the lagoon may follow over the next few days and then the recession of the lagoon if no further rainfall occurs.
